Having succumbed to switching to OSX Lion earlier this week, my initial enthusiasm for the new platform quickly went south as I discovered that OSX Lion no longer supports Canon’s Eos Utility software – or the other way round, whatever, it’s no longer working.
I use Eos Utility to shoot tethered onto my MacBookPro.
A few uncomfortable studio shoots later (having to stop shooting every 10 minutes, in order to download my images via a Flash-card reader, just to be able to show the client the images on the laptop – it’s a big no-no, I can tell you), I found out that there is a way around this problem: one of the earlier versions of Eos Utility DOES work on OSX Lion.
Just delete your current copy of Eos Utility on your HD, an install THIS version (Eos Utility 2.8.1).
Et Voilà! Problem solved. Enjoy your tethered shootings once again! ![]()
